Hi5, Joburg’s most unhinged, rock & roll dance party is back!
After entering the multiverse in April 2013, we had a huge year; throwing no less than 12 parties, hosting Australian bong punks DUNE RATS, taking over a stage at Grietfest, melting eyeballs with our rapidly blossoming romance with Turn Your Lights Up High and getting down with dozens of the best bands and DJs South Africa has to offer! Now Hi5 is getting back down to business, kicking off 2014 in mathematical fashion!
For our first party of 2014, we’re happy to welcome Hello Beautiful to the Hi5 stage! The solo project of Matthieu Auriacombe (bassist of kidofdoom and Beach Party) Hello Beautiful is a full on assault of synth powered awesome. Hi debut EP, Supernova Love was released in October 2013 through magic-making collective Surfing Looser Space Cult:

Immediately adapting the EP to a live setting, Hello Beautiful’s live sets instantly established him as one of the brightest new lights in live electronic music in South Africa. With a high energy, take no prisoners attitude, Hello Beautiful has left dancefloors elated across the quality selection of events he’s played thus far. We’re very happy to soon include Hi5 in that list!
