IF I OWNED A CINEMA: I would screen the Prince film PURPLE RAIN

1969313_663068967064672_637817668_nA new Signature Event where The Bioscope invites friends, celebrities, and members of the public to present a film of their choice.

Buy anything from Chalkboard, our adjoining bar and restaurant, and get free access into the film. Reserve your space by buying a R20 drink online via our ticketing system

Our next invited co owner is New York based actress, producer, and star of The Bioscope hit An Oversimplification of Her Beauty, Namik Minter

Her choice, PURPLE RAIN, was the first starring role for Prince, and is the story of an arrogant, young singer, born and raised in Minneapolis, who reaches the pinnacle of stardom. He meets an aspiring singer, Apollonia, and finds that talent alone isn’t all that he needs. What ensues is complicated tale of him repeating his father’s self destructive behavior, losing Apollonia to another singer (Morris Day), and him coming to grips with his own connection to other people.

HERE’S THE EVENT PAGE.
