Johannesburg’s newest summer series is brought to you by Breakout, the team behind the successful Parklife Festival, and City Parks. Large On The Lawn is Joburg’s answer to the Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts and Durban’s Botanical Gardens shows, and the new series will bring audiences a set of live shows that are accessible in a centrally located park that is pristine and beautiful. The idea of a few hours out with friends and family on a blanket with wine and snacks is the perfect way to spend a weekend.

Johannesburg has been missing a series of music events that is regular and easily accessible. Breakout and City Parks are bringing Gauteng a music environment that is cost effective and allows people to come together with friends for a fun afternoon.

Large On The Lawn will take place at the Golden Harvest Park in Randburg which is situated near the Northgate Dome in the north of Johannesburg and is a pristine 55 hectare park with rolling walks around a dam and indigenous bushveld. This picturesque park is a delightful surprise and a secret treasure which many Johannesburgers are unaware. Established as a park in 1972, it is filled with unspoiled indigenous bushveld and a beautiful Lake – http://www.jhbcityparks.com/index.php/list-of-parks-mainmenu-39/39-golden-harvest

Jeremy Loops and Matthew Mole are the first to grace the Large On The Lawn stage on Sunday 29 January.  For the Jeremy Loops band it is the first time in nine months that they will be performing in Johannesburg with some new songs and a changed set-list. This will be a unique experience for fans.  Afrikaans heavyweights Francois van Coke and Jack Parow will headline at the second instalment of Large On The Lawn on Sunday 26 February and more exciting announcements will follow for the March, April and June event line-ups.

Opening acts for both shows will be announced next, gates open at 1pm, with the show starting at 2pm and ending at 5pm. Picnic baskets and drinks are allowed (no glass will be allowed into the park), so concert-goers can pack their own food and drink for a relaxed picnic setting.

Sundays are no longer the dreaded last day of the weekend, the Monday-Eve we all fear. Let Large On The Lawn make your Sunday a relaxed day spent with friends in a beautiful scenery watching great live music.
