Securing its place yet again on the Gauteng music festival calendar, Sowing the Seeds, powered by 5FM, has secured UK soul pop phenomenon John Newman to headline the popular three-day music festival.

Nominated for three BRIT Awards this year, John Newman burst onto the radio waves in South Africa last year with his chart-topping tracks ‘Love Me Again’, ‘Losing Sleep’ and ‘Cheating’. The enigmatic and talented artist’s voice featured on the worldwide number one track ‘Feel To Love’ from Rudimental as well as their massive follow-up single ‘Not Giving In’. Millions of views online for John Newman’s music videos cement his position as one of the top solo artists in the world right now and Sowing The Seeds fans will get to witness him live for the first time in South Africa at this year’s festival.

Along with John Newman, this year’s Sowing the Seeds line-up will see a music lover’s dream local artist selection on the main stage, including Beatenberg, Shortstraw, Michael Lowman, John Wizards and many more still to be announced. The EDM stage will feature the top DJ’s spinning the decks through the day and night.

Welgelegen Manor Estate, less than an hour’s drive from Joburg, will host Sowing the Seeds for a second year. The venue proved to be a popular choice last year given its beautiful setting, excellent facilities and proximity to Joburg. As the thousands of festival-goers to last year’s event will attest, Sowing the Seeds is the perfect weekend getaway music festival: Soft grass for camping, a variety of bars and food stalls, a fantastic vibe and atmosphere, top music and hours of partying are guaranteed.

Sowing the Seeds organiser, award-winning Seed Experiences and organiser of the highly acclaimed Rocking the Daisies Festival in the Western Cape, is urging fans to get their tickets at Webtickets quickly as this year’s line-up means tickets will sell fast.
