On 1 June 2014 Park Acoustics will be celebrating their fourth year of existence and to
commemorate this special occasion they are hosting international synth-pop sensation St
Lucia.
St Lucia is the brainchild of South African born, New York based, Jean-Philip Grobler. Their
hit track ‘September’ featured on the Fifa ’13 soundtrack and topped the 5FM Top 40 in
January 2013. They have been making waves in the States and the single ‘All Eyes On
You’ was featured on a Victoria’s Secret advertisement on that side of the Atlantic. They
appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Talk Show in November 2013 and will be supporting
Foster The People during their 2014 Spring USA tour.
Their dreamy and nostalgic sound is uplifting, joyful and the perfect soundtrack for this
special occasion. The support line-up includes local favourites Jeremy Loops, Al Bairre,
Tumi, The Brother Moves On, The December Streets and many more.

I am so freaking excited that when the announcement was made, I phoned my Mother to tell her the news! She has no clue who St. Lucia is. So I went home and played her the St. Lucia EP, September EP AND When The Night album until she removed the phones to politely ask, “Can I come with you?” Now, that’s excitement right there! Woop!

I am stoked for this one, since Jeremy Loops will be making another appearance. This is definitely going to be an awesome experience! I don’t know most of the artists on the line up, I’m solely coming to this event to watch St. Lucia! 14.05.2014 at 10:12My favourite St Lucia song is “All Eyes on You”… it’s the perfect chilled song to mellow out to on a Sunday in the gorgeous autumn sunlight of the Park Acoustics venue.
It brings about nostalgic vibes of chasing recent by-gone summer days and the giddy excitement that comes with being attracted to someone… proper goosebumps!
I am so excited for the event because its a showcase of just how awesome our SA music talent is.. the fact that Jean-Philip Grobler has gained significant notoriety in the States through his music is testament to the quality of artists that our country is producing and what cooler way to bring that international success back than by staging a performance in an intimate concert venue with some of the most die-hard St Lucia fans!

Hippies, Jack Daniels, sunset watching while half drunk holding onto a new made friend that you never meet again, the stalls and ofcourse beautiful music to loose your voice and mind to, who wouldn’t be excited.
I just wanna climb on top of a cotton-candy-tasting cloud and poke the fast forward button that lives there, so it can be the 1st of June already. This year to show my love I shall wear my special occasion dancing shoes with four party hats. =)
